I tried to explain the concept of knock knock jokes this evening at dinner. I know they're corny, but I thought that the kids might think they were funny.
And they did, but they thought their own were much funnier than the standard fare:

who's there?
Owl sandwich
Owl sandwich who?
Oh, you want a sandwich?

who's there
jellyfish
Jellyfish who?
Jellyfish poo.
Knock knock
who's there
Fanta
Fanta who?
I want a banana!

Those actually are hilarious. I would be laughing even harder if it were 2 am and I was punchy from lack of sleep. But even at 8:30am on a Sunday morning, I'm cracking up.
