Just went into the bathroom to investigate sloshing noises and stumbled upon the dog enthusiastically lapping brown sludge out of the toilet! AGH!
*gasp!* *shudder!*
(Upon closer inspection it turned out to be discarded batter from this morning's chocolate chip pancakes.)

Dogs are so cute and then I remember stuff like this and think, uh-uh. My ex-dog used to eat the real thing. This is why she's my ex-dog.
Wait - do you ALWAYS discard your leftover pancake batter in the toilet???

:-D I was wondering if anyone was going to ask me about that one. No, usually there's no batter left over to discard.
But something went wrong with this batch, too much baking soda, or something, and they just wouldn't cook- stayed raw on the inside even after being in the pan for 15 minutes!
And European kitchens unfortunately don't come equipped with garbage disposals in the sink, so what else can you do with batter other than gumming up the compost bin?
