Now more dangerous than ever!

We've had a busy weekend-- S and B belatedly celebrated their birthdays and we took 8 kids to the theater to see the Meerkats. It's a documentary for kids and follows the life of a family of Meerkats who are living in the Kalahari desert. The footage was amazing-- some parts of it were filmed in the animals' burrows including a scene where they were being chased through the tunnels by a cobra!

Speaking of the dangerous creatures, S and M completed another exam on Saturday for Taekwando and have now earned their yellow / green belts!

Congrats to S and B on their new belts!

At some point, I can't remember when, there was a huge series on meerkats on PBS. My father absolutely fell in love with them. He was a gruff man and a total intellectual and could scare the heck out of any male friends I brought around, but he had this very sweet side, too, and the meerkats really tapped into that. He would not MISS an episode.

I was kind of wondering if you had any photos of meerkats doing martial arts?

Hi Jen! I can see why your Dad fell in love with Meerkats-- their mannerisms can look very human and they're very endearing!

Jenn: Unfortunately S and B still haven't made the connection between Taekwando and self defense. I'm hoping that it will kick in soon, though, because I think it would just take one or two well executed kicks to solve a lot of their problems...

Goofball: Thanks! :-)

Hi Greg! **wave!**
