Since we hadn't really planned it beforehand this trip seemed like a bonus; a luxury we were able to squeeze in just before school starts back tomorrow.
This is not a joke. WTF?! I can't figure out if this is a line of beauty products made for or by evil little people...
This souvenir shop had the standard tacky personalized greeting cards. Betsy wasn't in there. As a kid I was always disappointed to have been excluded from this kind of merchandise, but back then I was passed over for names like "Amy", "Lisa" and "Tammy". Bärbel, Boris, Brunhilda, Burkhard, Birgit and Beat? Are they kidding?
I've been thinking of trying out a new hair color. But not at this salon.
We walked to Austria for lunch one day. It sounds impressive until you realize that the border was only about 1 km further down the road. Here we are with one foot in Germany and the other in Austria...
This is one of my favorite family photos ever! We spent the afternoon at the Zeppelin Museum in Friedrichshafen and had just come out of a 3D movie about blimps. Which was actually more fun than it sounds... |

It looks like a wonderful time was had by all! My DS started school a week ago, but I start teaching tomorrow. And I have some kind of laryngitis - lol!
I sent you some linky love in my Pavarotti post.
You had sunshine? You did luck out. We saw maybe 20 minutes of it this weekend. Also, I graduated with 8 Lisa's...sniff. Lurking Lisa
I love your funny signs. We have a beauty salon near us named "Curl Up and Dye." Don't know what they were thinking. Clever, but creepy.
Oma and Opa look like they're having fun with the boys!
I like the signs! I recon the troll cosmetics were imported from norway, and the Hair Killer? Don't go there, please!
LOL - your husband wears athletic shoes! Before I moved here, my now-ex had trouble finding comfortable street shoes, and the American gf was the obvious explanation for his wearing sport shoes with lederhosen.

ACK MOLLY! You weren't supposed to notice that! ;-)
I HATE those shoes and keep threatening to throw them out. He's got a new pair but prefers these ratty old ones for some reason.
They're OK if you're hanging out on a campground but otherwise: UGH!
