Lemon Lyme

So B has only just finished his round of antibiotics for Lyme disease. Our next-door neighbor is awaiting blood test results for a steadily growing rash on her leg, and I just heard that a boy who lives about five houses further up has also been infected.

Is this a burgeoning epidemic or just sheer coincidence? I'm not taking any chances-- have bought some industrial strength insect spray and have been dousing the kids every time they go out to play in the woods...

Pesky critters, those ticks. REcently, a friend of mine had to pick blood engorged ticks from her dog. Ick!

The weather has something to do with it. If you get optimum tick breeding conditions the population increases and everyone gets bit.

Oh dear. Yeah, ticks are rampant down there and tend to carry more dangerous stuff. We have them up here too but they say that they're usually not carriers for some reason.

Yikes! Sounds like time to wear long pants and thick boots, too. Just what you want to wear in the middle of summer, right?

It sounds like you might have an infestation in your area.
