Ships of the desert

Yesterday we visited a camel farm in the Black Forest. I've always heard about how ornery camels can be, but was pleasantly surprised by their placid, curious nature.

In fact, the camels at this particular farm are so laid back that they're used as therapy animals for children with personality disorders!

Nice to see you visit my blog... A camel farm in the Black Forrest? I didn't see that when I visited that region, they must have been snoozing. I saw a lot of cake though...ciao

That's amazing. The only camels I know spit and are MEAN.

Somehow I missed the camel farms, too. Of course, that was 40 years ago.

We have llamas around here. The sheep farmers keep them as sentries against the coyotes. They've got a reputation for being mean kickers. The llamas, that is.

I've had one camel encounter and that too was quite so pleasant!

...and if you want another music site apart from lastfm, go to www.deezer.com. It's even better than lastfm because it really plays what you want to hear. Only I wasn't able to find a widget to put in my sidebar :)

so cute...didn't know that camel farms exit. Oh my little nephew would have a total blast there.

You know what a camel does? ...(then he licks his lip).
