S and B spent this afternoon sledding down a huge hill near our house with other neighborhood kids. I walked out there to bring them a snow hat and was met halfway by S trailing a crowd of children. He was crying and there was some blood on his face. Apparently he'd been sledding too fast and flipped over, bit through his lip, broke off the top of one tooth and chipped another. (of course these are permanent teeth. and of course he's the one who had a perfect bite. at least up until this afternoon.)
By the time we got home he'd calmed down and went to the mirror in the bathroom to inspect the damage. When I came in he was smiling really big and bubbled over: "Man! Am I going to have a great story to tell in class tomorrow!"

Waagh. I am so sorry. Of course, I am glad it wasn't worse but that won't make the time at the dentist better.
Oh, dear. Glad he was in good spirits. I hope the dental work isn't too much of a big deal.
Ouch! Amazing how quickly kids recover from these things. I hope all goes well with the dentist tomorrow. And you? Have you recovered, too?
Oh, no! At least he has a positive attitude about it all. LOVE the graphic.
Hi guys. Thanks for your well wishes! The tooth that was wiggly yesterday seems better, although now that I look closer I realize that his two top front teeth were chipped as well.
Luckily, though, the most damage was done to two bottom teeth, so it's not so immediately obvious. (that, and I'm also grateful that no nerves were exposed! *shudder*)
I've made an appointment with the dentist just to get it checked out. I doubt that there's much that can be done at this point, but he's probably going to need to get at least one tooth capped later... *sigh*
ouch
dental work is so costly :(. Pfff
Hey, I like your new profile photo.
Ouch. Reminds me of the time I fell on my face when I was about 11. I didn't break the teeth but about 3 months later, they started to get darker. The dentist said that the nerves had broken. Back then, they whitened them until they got too brittle and then they needed crowns. 30 some yrs later and I still sing every Christmas, All I want for Christmas is my two front teeth...
